IT Support Engineer
IMD · Lausanne
Job description
About the role
IMD, an independent university institute founded in Switzerland, is looking for a motivated, service-minded IT Support Engineer (100%) to support its Alumni community, Participants, Faculty and Staff. The role sits in a workplace where AI assistants and agents handle many simple requests, freeing engineers to focus on complex problems and human conversations, and to help train, test and improve the AI tools used every day.
Key responsibilities
- Be the face of IT for the community, supporting Staff, Faculty, Participants and Alumni across a wide range of platforms and situations.
- Support a Mac-first environment, helping colleagues move from Windows to Mac.
- Solve problems, including those without a manual, using good judgment and documenting solutions for the team.
- Help put AI to work: spot requests an agent could handle, improve the knowledge base of the bots, and step in when a human touch is needed.
- Work with AV colleagues to keep the campus's conferencing rooms, learning auditoriums and devices running smoothly.
- Focus on strengths while expanding skills and tackling new challenges.
Required profile
- Hands-on IT support experience with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Fluent French and English; the working language is English, though the team communicates mostly in French day to day.
- Good judgment, resourcefulness and comfort working autonomously where processes are still being defined.
- A big plus: experience supporting Macs in a business environment, building or fine-tuning AI agents or bots (Copilot Studio or similar), automating tasks, interest in AV and conferencing technology, and experience writing procedures, processes or knowledge articles.
Required skills
- Solid, hands-on knowledge of macOS and iOS, ideally alongside excellent knowledge of Windows.
- Clear, friendly and patient communication.
To apply, candidates send a letter of motivation and a resume in English, together with copies of work certificates and diplomas. A valid Swiss work permit or Swiss or EU-25/EFTA citizenship is required.
