Junior Accountant (Commodity Trading Group)

About the role

A dynamic Commodity Trading Group with global activities is strengthening its Finance Team in Zug, Switzerland, and is hiring a Junior Accountant. The role works closely with the Corporate Accountant on day-to-day accounting and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily general ledger and sub-ledger entries in coordination with the Corporate Accountant
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements under IFRS and the statutory financial statements under the Swiss Code of Obligations
• Help reconcile intercompany balances, including the allocation of intra-group services
• Support analysis of financial statements and help prepare forecasts and budgets
• Assist with special tasks and various projects within the finance team

Required profile

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role
• Completed commercial and administrative qualification
• First experience with accounting standards (IFRS and Swiss Code of Obligations)
• Experience in an international organisation preferred
• Swiss or EU/EFTA permit B
• Nice to have: commodity trading experience and knowledge of Swiss VAT

Required skills

• Good knowledge of English
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
• Independent, reliable and accurate way of working; organised, goal-oriented and flexible
