Junior Accountant – Private Equity Group (Zug)

About the role

EMEA Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading international private equity group for a hands-on Junior Accountant based in Zug. Reporting to the Group Controller within the Group CFO Office, the role covers daily accounting and financial processes across several jurisdictions. It is designed to grow into a Group Accountant position through progressive entity ownership and cross-functional projects.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, manage approval workflows and payment runs, and handle employee expense claims
• Issue outgoing invoices, monitor receivables, match incoming payments and follow up on overdue items
• Book bank statements, reconcile bank and cash accounts and support liquidity reporting
• Manage intercompany recharges, loans and balance reconciliations across group and investment entities
• Ensure correct VAT treatment, assist with VAT returns and stamp duty declarations, and support monthly closes and financial statement preparation
• Maintain master data, act as a finance system key user and take part in process automation and continuous improvement projects

Required profile

• Commercial apprenticeship (KV in Switzerland), vocational qualification in finance or accounting (MBO in the Netherlands), or a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or accounting
• 1 to 3 years of practical accounting experience in a fiduciary, accounting firm, audit firm or group accounting team
• First experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and month-end closing; exposure to private equity or international groups is an advantage
• Fluent German and English at business level; Dutch is an advantage

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills and experience with an accounting or ERP system
• Accuracy, structured approach and strong communication skills
