About the role
The Forum Basiliense at the University of Basel invites outstanding early‑career researchers to join its interdisciplinary community as Junior Fellows for a period of three to six months in 2027. Fellows will engage with the thematic focus “Errors! Mistakes, Deceptions, and Corrections”, contributing to scholarly debate across the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
Key responsibilities
- Participate actively in the Forum’s regular colloquia, workshops and public events.
- Develop and present original research that addresses the fellowship theme.
- Collaborate with international fellows and guest scholars from diverse disciplines.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary publications or project reports.
- Assist in organizing thematic sessions and disseminating findings.
Required profile
- Hold an excellent PhD or a junior professorship in any discipline represented at the University of Basel.
- Demonstrated record of high‑quality research and publications.
- Strong interest in the study of error, deception, and correction from historical, social or scientific perspectives.
- Ability to work in an international, multilingual environment.
