Junior IT Support Engineer

About the role

Oryctérope Transalpin Sàrl, a member of the TransMarket Group, is looking for a Junior IT Support Engineer to join its team in the Swiss Alps. You will work on a diverse IT environment that supports proprietary trading applications, providing hands‑on support and automation for both hardware and software.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first responder on the IT support queue, triaging and resolving common issues.
• Install, upgrade and perform basic connectivity checks for third‑party trading applications, escalating complex problems.
• Manage the full lifecycle of office and workstation equipment – provisioning, imaging, configuration, troubleshooting, replacement and decommissioning.
• Administer end‑user accounts, access rights and software licences (AD groups, password/MFA resets, SaaS seats).
• Provide in‑person support for workstations, peripherals and hardware failures.
• Assist with datacenter tasks such as cabling, racking, cleaning and replacing UPS batteries or power supplies.
• Maintain up‑to‑date internal documentation of processes, best practices and new procedures.
• Help monitor infrastructure, identify issues and progressively automate repetitive tasks.
• Coordinate repairs and deliveries with third‑party vendors and suppliers.

Required profile

• IT‑related education or relevant experience.
• Strong manual skills and willingness to perform physical work (cabling, racking, hardware replacement).
• Basic familiarity with Linux (Debian) command line and file system.
• Basic Windows troubleshooting knowledge, including Active Directory concepts.
• Motivation to learn scripting (Python, Bash) for automation.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.
• Reliable, detail‑oriented and proactive.
• Full on‑site presence (no remote work).
