Junior Legal Counsel – Commodity Trading

About the role

Join MET International AG’s legal team to support the trading of LNG, power and gas. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure commercial transactions are legally sound and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the General Counsel in preparing, reviewing and negotiating trading documentation for LNG, power and gas transactions.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice to the trading business on commercial agreements such as sale‑and‑purchase, transportation and other energy contracts.
• Support the structuring and execution of transactions, ensuring regulatory licensing and reporting obligations are met.
• Collaborate with Trading, Operations, Compliance, Risk and other teams to deliver practical legal solutions.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in an in‑house legal department or an international law firm, preferably with exposure to LNG, power or gas trading.
• Strong foundation in legal drafting and contract negotiation, with a keen interest in energy markets.
• Proactive, curious and collaborative mindset, eager to develop in a fast‑paced trading environment.

Required skills

• Legal drafting and contract negotiation.
• Understanding of energy markets and commodity trading instruments.
• Familiarity with EU commodity markets, exchanges and derivatives (a plus).
