Legal Counsel – Intellectual Property & Technology

About the role

STMicroelectronics is seeking a Legal Counsel specialized in Intellectual Property and Technology to support its global operations. You will advise on complex commercial and technology agreements and help mitigate legal risks in a fast‑moving semiconductor environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, negotiate, draft and oversee commercial and technology agreements, including cloud services, IT outsourcing, software licensing, and data analytics contracts.
• Provide legal advice on IP sourcing, IT sourcing, hosting, subscription‑based services, and software license agreements.
• Identify legal risks, design mitigation strategies, and ensure alignment with ST’s risk tolerance.
• Review and improve contract templates, processes, and related policies.
• Offer legal consulting to business units, delivering practical guidance on rapidly changing conditions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of IT contracts and advise on post‑closing liability mitigation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in IP law, technology law, or a related field from an EU Member State or Switzerland.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an international law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Strong background in IP/IT law, commercial contracts, and procurement.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Business‑level English; French and/or Italian are a strong plus.
