Legal & Regulatory Counsel - Banking (m/f/d)

About the role

We are seeking a Legal & Regulatory Counsel to support our banking operations in Switzerland. The role involves monitoring regulatory changes, advising business units, and ensuring compliance with Swiss financial market regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, monitor and analyse relevant Swiss financial market regulations.
• Assess regulatory developments and advise the business on their implications.
• Review and respond to regulatory matters, including coordination of FINMA inquiries and investigations.
• Support the implementation of new and changing regulatory requirements.
• Provide practical advice across Legal and Compliance matters.
• Liaise with authorities and other relevant external stakeholders.
• Take responsibility for internal regulatory frameworks, including drafting, coordination and maintenance of internal policies and regulations.

Required profile

• Swiss university degree in Law.
• Swiss bar admission is advantageous but not essential.
• Professional experience within financial regulation, banking, legal or compliance.
• Previous experience with a regulatory authority is particularly valuable.
• Good understanding of the Swiss financial regulatory environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
• Confident stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
