Manager, Accounting & Reporting

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Manager, Accounting & Reporting – Revenue to lead a high‑performing team responsible for end‑to‑end revenue accounting. The role ensures compliance with IFRS 15, maintains a SOX‑compliant control environment, and provides timely, accurate revenue reporting while supporting the company’s broader business and DEI objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee revenue accounting activities, ensuring alignment with IFRS 15 and Alcon’s internal policies.
• Review customer contracts to accurately recognize revenue and manage related balance‑sheet items such as accruals, rebates, deductions, and trade receivables.
• Lead the month‑end close for revenue‑related areas, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Validate revenue reporting in consolidation and management reporting systems, ensuring consistency with IFRS and the Alcon Accounting Manual.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls over revenue processes, documenting key controls and procedures.
• Support internal and external audits with thorough documentation and analytical explanations.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve data discrepancies and improve financial information integrity.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of IFRS 15 revenue recognition and SOX compliance.
• Proven experience managing month‑end close and revenue accounting functions.
• Ability to lead a team, drive process automation, and foster continuous improvement.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills for stakeholder partnership.
