Manager / Senior Manager - Cloud Architect

About the role

PwC's Advisory line in Zürich is looking for a Manager or Senior Manager Cloud Architect within its Data, Analytics & AI practice. You will lead and collaborate with a team to deliver high-impact cloud transformation projects and engage with senior stakeholders from clients in Technology, Financial Services, Retail & Consumer, Healthcare and Government Services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end cloud architectures incorporating AI/GenAI platforms, data & analytics, event-driven architectures, Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Ensure cloud solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, compliant, cost-efficient and sustainable.
• Define and evolve target operating models, cloud landing zones and reference architectures, and set up architecture governance and best practices.
• Communicate complex architectural concepts to senior stakeholders and contribute to business development, including proposals, client pitches and thought leadership.
• Expand knowledge of cloud-native technology, cloud architecture, engineering methodologies and consulting strategies.

Required profile

• Degree (bachelor, master or diploma) in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud engineering or platform solutions; consulting experience is an advantage.
• Proven track record of designing and delivering complex cloud architectures for internal or external clients.
• Fluent English; German is a big plus. Willingness to travel within Switzerland and occasionally internationally.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure, including Azure Landing Zones (Cloud Adoption Framework), AKS, Azure Networking, Entra ID and Azure OpenAI.
• Certification in cloud architecture, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) or Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect; additional certifications are a plus.
• Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud is a plus.
