Marketing Automation Architect

About the role

The Marketing Automation Architect will lead the evolution of Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities across Europe, bridging day‑to‑day platform operations with long‑term architecture. You will work closely with global teams to ensure scalable, localized solutions that support multi‑country campaigns and future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the European marketing automation technology roadmap in partnership with global digital platform and regional CRM teams.
• Design, build, and optimise solutions using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, customer journeys, segmentation, personalisation, SQL, APIs and integrations.
• Support and enhance the existing ExactTarget environment while reducing technical debt.
• Evaluate, pilot and implement Marketing Cloud Next/Advanced, AI‑enabled marketing and customer data activation initiatives.
• Establish governance, technical standards, reusable templates and best practices for quality, compliance and scalability.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in marketing automation, CRM or digital marketing architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with multi‑country programmes, localisation, GDPR and European privacy regulations.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and solution‑architecture skills, preferably in retail or consumer brands.

Required skills

• Salesforce Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget) expertise.
• SQL and API integration experience.
• Customer journey, segmentation and personalisation design.
• Familiarity with AI‑enabled marketing, Marketing Cloud Next/Advanced and customer data platforms.
