About the role
Huntsman's Advanced Materials division seeks a Material Scientist to join the Product Innovation team in Basel, Switzerland. You will develop advanced polymeric materials for printed circuit boards (PCBs) and semiconductor packaging, supporting the future of electronics technology.
Key responsibilities
- Identify innovation opportunities and design high‑performance thermoset polymer formulations for PCB applications.
- Create prototypes, perform proof‑of‑concept assessments, and improve material designs based on test results and customer feedback.
- Analyze experimental data, maintain electronic laboratory records, and prepare technical reports.
- Monitor industry trends, support intellectual property generation, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams, customers and external partners.
Required profile
- PhD in Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in materials research and development for electronics applications.
- Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry and physics, especially thermoset systems and inorganic‑filled formulations.
- Solid understanding of PCB manufacturing, electronic materials and semiconductor packaging technologies.
