Mechanical Engineer – Part‑time, Hybrid (Zurich)

About the role

This part‑time Mechanical Engineer position is based in Zurich and follows a hybrid work model, allowing a mix of on‑site and remote days. You will support the design, analysis, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and components while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review technical drawings and 3D models using CAD tools.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and component selection.
• Prepare documentation for prototypes and production runs.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of parts.
• Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mechanical issues.
• Plan and track smaller projects or work packages, monitoring timelines, quality, and safety standards.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Hands‑on experience in machine design, CAD (2D & 3D), and project management.
• Background in R&D, testing, and data‑driven design improvement.
• Excellent written and spoken communication in English; German or French is a plus.
• Organised, self‑directed work style suitable for a hybrid environment.
• Familiarity with industry standards, safety practices, and basic materials and manufacturing processes.
