Metrology Engineer (Process Engineer)

About the role

Axetris AG is seeking a technically skilled Metrology Engineer to act as a bridge between R&D and production. You will support wafer manufacturing processes, ensure measurement accuracy, and help transfer new methods into series production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot multiple inspection and measurement systems used in wafer manufacturing.
• Specify, evaluate, procure, install, and qualify new equipment and production resources.
• Perform data analysis, statistical evaluations, and prepare results for stakeholders.
• Develop new measurement and test methods, recipes, and parameters, and transfer them to production.
• Contribute to quality documentation such as PFMEA, Control Plans, and process flows.
• Procure, test, and develop data‑processing software for production use.
• Train operators and ensure compliance with safety and procedural standards.

Required profile

• M.Sc. in Microengineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• Experience with manufacturing or measurement processes in the semiconductor industry.
• Familiarity with cleanroom and laboratory environments.
• Fluent German and English communication skills.
• Solution‑oriented, analytical mindset with a structured work approach.
