MSAT Upstream Internship (80-100%)

About the role

This 12‑month, site‑based internship supports Process Experts in large‑scale mammalian upstream and downstream manufacturing at Lonza’s Visp facility. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑quality, safe production of medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in technology transfer activities, preparing process documentation and coordinating cross‑functional input.
• Support data collection and analysis for manufacturing batches, deviations, and process performance trends.
• Prepare presentations, reports, and process descriptions for internal stakeholders and customers.
• Participate in process risk assessments, change controls, and improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate daily with Manufacturing, MSAT, QA, and Process Development on troubleshooting and operations.
• Maintain GMP documentation practices and ensure data integrity for regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Ongoing or completed Bachelor’s/Master’s in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences or related field.
• Strong curiosity about biopharma manufacturing and process science.
• Basic understanding of bioprocessing and GMP is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and a good team player.
• Comfortable in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
