Operational Buyer & Material Planner

About the role

As an Operational Buyer and Material Planner at Arxada in Visp, you will ensure the smooth flow of materials and services that keep the site running efficiently. You will act as the main liaison between internal stakeholders and suppliers, supporting the Purchase-to-Pay process and contributing to operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end operational procurement process and serve as the primary contact for Purchase‑to‑Pay activities.
• Manage MRP processes in SAP, adjusting disposition parameters to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Coordinate internal requirements and procure technical goods, spare parts, and services according to business needs.
• Process and follow up payment transactions within the purchasing area.
• Maintain and monitor key purchasing lists such as GR/IR, open purchase orders, cash management, and order acknowledgements.
• Create and track contracts in the ERP system in collaboration with strategic buyers.
• Support buyers on procurement projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, business management, sales, or a technical commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP, and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Ability to connect functions such as production, engineering, and workshops.
• Structured, proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with effective prioritisation.
• Professional proficiency in German and English.
