Operational Risk Specialist – Second Line of Defense

About the role

A well-established banking and financial services institution, represented by Finders, is recruiting an Operational Risk Specialist for a second-line-of-defense position in a busy, close-knit team. The role contributes to the maintenance and development of the Bank's operational risk framework, aligned with Swiss banking regulations and FINMA requirements, and works closely with stakeholders across the three lines of defense to identify, assess and mitigate operational risks.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and contribute to the development of the operational risk framework
• Review and challenge the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the three lines of defense
• Perform testing of controls and follow up on findings
• Contribute to relevant operational risk reviews and assessments
• Support the Bank in meeting its regulatory and operational risk requirements

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Economics or a related discipline
• Around 5 years of practical experience in Operational Risk, Internal Audit or a Control function
• Swiss passport or Swiss work permit, eligible to work in the Geneva region
• Full-time availability, no home office

Required skills

• Good understanding of Swiss banking regulations and FINMA requirements
• Strong analytical and organisational skills, able to work independently
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills; knowledge of Avaloq is an advantage
• Fluent English and very good French; German is an advantage
