Operations Planner – Manufacturing Complex 2

About the role

Lonza, a global life sciences company, is looking for an Operations Planner (m/f/d) for its Visp site. You will be responsible for comprehensive operations planning in Manufacturing Complex 2, coordinating all operational activities (long, mid and short term) including resources and materials, as well as large and small investment projects and qualification activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan shop floor scheduling for the large-scale mammalian Manufacturing Complex 2, a 6 x 20kL bioreactor facility
• Develop an integrated plan covering day-to-day shop floor activities and capacity-related recommendations to the master production schedule
• Coordinate and plan tasks for Procurement Planning, the Manufacturing Complex 2 leadership team, Production, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering, Global Engineering and Lonza Services
• Own the Summary Production Schedule (SPS), driven by supply chain demand planning and the master production schedule
• Develop detailed plans for production, maintenance, resource and plant availability planning
• Anticipate supply bottlenecks and develop measures to improve planning accuracy through process and system optimisation
• Maintain, train and ensure compliance on the scheduling tool and system used in the facility
• Develop the overall planning strategy for Manufacturing Complex 2 Operations

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in supply chain, biotechnology or equivalent training
• Professional experience in a GMP production environment; shop floor experience in a biologics operation is a distinct advantage
• Several years of supply planning experience in pharmaceuticals or biotechnology is an advantage
• English business proficiency; German is an advantage

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of SAP ERP/MRP and MES systems such as Syncade
• Proficiency in creating integrated schedules in planning software such as Orchestrate, Schedule Pro or Aspen is a distinct advantage
• Proficiency in Office programs, especially MS Project
• Experience with scheduling and capacity optimisation programs is desirable
