Postdoctoral Fellow - Cancer Biology, Genetics and Epigenetics

About the role

The Laboratory of Elisa Oricchio at the Swiss Institute of Experimental Cancer Research (ISREC) at EPFL is looking for a postdoctoral fellow with a strong background in cancer biology, genetics and epigenetics. The lab investigates the molecular mechanisms driving tumor initiation and responses to therapy, and is part of the Swiss Cancer Center Leman research community on the EPFL main campus. The position starts on 1 January 2027, is a one-year fixed-term contract at 100% activity and is renewable.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the characterization of cancer-associated genomic alterations and how they reshape the epigenome.
• Study how chromatin 3D structure remodeling drives tumor development and progression.
• Explore how genomic alterations reprogram the interaction between cancer cells and immune cells.
• Develop and expand these research lines, and consider applying for individual fellowships to strengthen your CV and career prospects.

Required profile

• A proven track record of scientific excellence, demonstrated through high-quality publications.
• Strong motivation and exceptional dedication and work ethic.
• Prior experience with animal models, 3D culture systems and/or computational analyses is an advantage.
