Postdoctoral Fellow - Translational Research in Daylighting for Health and Well-being

About the role

The Department of Architecture (D-ARCH) at ETH Zurich invites a postdoctoral fellow for 18 months, starting 1st January to 1st April 2027 or upon agreement, to expand expertise in daylighting for human health and well-being. The fellow joins the Daylight Integration Nexus (DINx), a platform supported by the Velux Stiftung that integrates daylighting into research and teaching at D-ARCH. The fellowship is hosted by the Chair of Architecture and Building Systems (A/S) at the Institute of Technology in Architecture (ITA) together with the Chair of Architecture and Urban Design at the Institute of Landscape and Urban Studies (LUS). DINx will host three fellows over three years.

Key responsibilities

• Independently conduct research at the intersection of health and building science
• Take an active role in teaching formats at D-ARCH, such as lectures and design studios, and supervise theses
• Disseminate results and contribute to outreach, for example through one conference contribution, one symposium and one open lecture at D-ARCH

Required profile

• PhD in biomedical or health sciences, or another relevant discipline
• Experience in relevant daylight research, demonstrated by publications or a PhD thesis
