The role is based onsite in Geneva and works closely with the PQC architecture leadership to define hybrid classical/post‑quantum schemes.
Key responsibilities
- Define and implement the architecture for symmetric ciphers (AES/GCM and beyond), hash functions (SHA‑2, SHA‑3, HMAC/KDF), RSA/ECC offload, and true random number generation (SP 800‑90A/B/C).
- Design hybrid classical/post‑quantum key‑establishment, dual‑signature, and composite certificate schemes and crypto‑agility mechanisms for seamless migration.
- Guide RTL and software engineers, evaluate third‑party IP, and support FIPS 140‑3 and CAVP certification of the classical algorithm suite.
- Own key‑management and key‑hierarchy architecture ensuring interoperability with existing HSM, TLS and IPsec ecosystems.
Required profile
- Master’s or PhD in Cryptography, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- At least twelve years of experience designing and implementing classical cryptographic subsystems in hardware, software or both, with certification experience (FIPS 140‑3, CAVP, Common Criteria).
- Working knowledge of NIST post‑quantum algorithms (ML‑KEM, ML‑DSA, SLH‑DSA) and ability to architect hybrid schemes.
- Fluency in English; French or German is a plus.
Required skills
- AES/GCM, SHA‑2, SHA‑3, HMAC, KDF constructions.
- RSA and ECC offload implementations.
- True random number generation and entropy architecture (SP 800‑90A/B/C).
- Hybrid classical/post‑quantum scheme design and crypto‑agility mechanisms.
- FIPS 140‑3, CAVP, Common Criteria certification processes.
- NIST PQC standards (ML‑KEM, ML‑DSA, SLH‑DSA).
- Key‑management and key‑hierarchy architecture for HSM, TLS, IPsec, PKI environments.
