Process Engineer – Pharmaceutical Project

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer to join a high‑profile pharmaceutical project in Visp, Switzerland. The role is hands‑on and multidisciplinary, focusing on the design, calculation, and validation of process systems while ensuring compliance with GMP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review process design documentation such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform and validate process calculations, including flow rates, mass and energy balances, and equipment sizing.
• Conduct plausibility checks on engineering deliverables and design assumptions.
• Define and support User Requirement Specifications (URS) and size key equipment (pumps, vessels, tanks, utilities).
• Interface with mechanical, automation, electrical, and validation teams.
• Support design reviews, HAZOP studies, and overall project engineering activities.
• Ensure all work complies with pharmaceutical and GMP regulations throughout design, construction, and commissioning phases.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Process Engineer on pharmaceutical or life‑science projects.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering fundamentals, equipment sizing, and pharma production processes (API, sterile, biotech).
• Experience producing or reviewing PFDs, P&IDs, URS, and engineering specifications.
• Ability to perform plausibility checks and validate design outputs.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
• Good understanding of GMP regulations and compliance standards.
• Fluent English; German preferred for site coordination.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Visp, Switzerland.
