Programme Assistant – DCP/OA (Temporary)

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is seeking a temporary Programme Assistant to support two EU‑funded regional programmes in Central Africa. Working under the ECCAS ATCMA Programme Officer and in close collaboration with the ECCAS Services Programme Officer, the assistant will help ensure smooth programme implementation and coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and preparation activities for both programmes, monitoring proposal status and documentation receipt.
• Compile, summarize and present basic information and data on programme topics.
• Review programme documents, especially cost plans and budgets, for completeness and compliance before final approval.
• Identify inconsistencies, distribute approved documents to relevant parties, and serve as a focal point for administrative actions.
• Review budget revisions, verify fund availability, and ensure proper entry in the computerized budget system.

Required profile

• Experience supporting programme management and coordination at country level.
• Familiarity with budget monitoring, procurement and staff administration processes.
• Ability to work under direct supervision while collaborating with multiple programme officers.
• Strong attention to detail for document review and compliance checks.
