Programme Management Officer

About the role

The Independent Institution on Missing Persons in the Syrian Arab Republic (IIMP) is seeking a Programme Management Officer to support the design, implementation and evaluation of its programmes. Based in Geneva with the possibility of relocation, the officer will work under the Senior Human Rights Officer to advance the Institution’s mandate.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor programmes and projects, analysing progress and initiating corrective actions.
• Coordinate with national authorities, civil society, victims’ associations and international partners, ensuring effective follow‑up.
• Conduct research, analyse political and operational developments and produce briefing notes, policy recommendations and reports.
• Design and manage surveys, develop data‑collection tools, analyse results and prepare conclusions.
• Prepare background papers, analytical sections of reports and inputs for publications.
• Provide substantive support for meetings, conferences and coordination mechanisms, including agenda setting and document preparation.
• Lead or contribute to field missions, outreach activities, training workshops and presentations.

Required profile

• University degree in international relations, political science, human rights, development studies or a related field.
• Proven experience in programme or project management within an international or humanitarian context.
• Strong research and analytical abilities, with experience drafting policy papers and reports.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, and willingness to relocate as required.
