Project Control Engineer – Power Conversion

About the role

Join Hitachi Energy's Power Converter Solutions Competence Center in Turgi, where you will contribute to the development, installation and commissioning of high‑power electronic converters for grid‑integration projects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute control‑engineering aspects of projects, including hardware and software specifications and documentation.
• Coordinate technical interfaces between customers, sub‑suppliers and internal teams, and define hardware interfaces.
• Develop and implement control software, test on real‑time simulation platforms, and perform on‑site commissioning, testing and customer training.
• Provide technical support during project execution and after delivery, and assist the sales team with technical concepts and tender documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc or MSc) from a university or university of applied sciences.
• Hands‑on experience with MATLAB/Simulink and strong knowledge of process control and software design.
• Willingness to travel globally (≈20% of time) and fluency in English and German.

• Industrial communication protocols (OPC, IEC 61850, IEC 60870‑5‑104, DNP3)
• Testing, commissioning or applied engineering experience (advantageous)
