QC Small Molecules Internship (80-100%)

About the role

Lonza is seeking a motivated Bachelor’s or Master’s graduate to join its Quality Control (QC) team in Visp, Switzerland. This on‑site internship offers hands‑on experience in a GMP‑ and ISO‑regulated laboratory, supporting compliance, continuous improvement and data integrity initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support QCII laboratories in maintaining GMP, ISO and quality requirements.
• Assist with CAPA implementation, investigation management and timely closure of quality events.
• Partner with laboratory teams to identify and implement continuous‑improvement opportunities.
• Drive data‑integrity, Good Documentation Practices (GDocP) and data‑management initiatives.
• Support 6S activities to improve laboratory organization and operational excellence.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for audits, inspections, SOPs and compliance programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Quality Management, Engineering or related field.
• Strong interest in Quality Control, compliance and regulated environments.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a proactive mindset for continuous improvement.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and laboratory personnel.
• Good written and verbal English; German is mandatory.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of GMP regulations.
• Familiarity with ISO standards.
• Knowledge of CAPA processes.
• Experience with data‑integrity and Good Documentation Practices.
