Quality Control & Remediations Manager

About the role

Swissquote, Switzerland's leading digital bank, is hiring an Associate Director for Quality Control & Remediations within its Business Risk Management (BRM) function. BRM is the first-line control function covering client onboarding, periodic reviews and ongoing lifecycle controls, operating across Gland and Zurich. You will lead the team responsible for the final quality checks on account openings and periodic reviews, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with BRM standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the operational and people management of the Quality Control (QC) & Remediations team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Oversee the second and final quality check on account opening and periodic review cases before finalization.
• Produce qualitative and quantitative reports on return reasons and QC trends for senior management.
• Identify recurring gaps or patterns and recommend targeted training with the relevant teams.
• Own ad-hoc remediation exercises arising from audits, compliance testing or other reviews, keeping them scoped, resourced and on time.
• Act as a key contact in audits, helping prepare, review and present business responses.
• Take part in strategic discussions with onboarding, periodic review and other teams, bringing a QC perspective to transformation initiatives.
• Exercise independent judgment on complex QC findings, escalating appropriately and guiding the team.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to reduce return rates and strengthen first-time-right outcomes.
• Partner with Institutional Sales, Compliance and Legal, and support recruitment, performance management and coaching of team members.

Required profile

• Minimum 5-7 years in client onboarding, KYC/AML or compliance operations in financial services.
• Previous leadership or team-lead experience is a strong advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss regulatory requirements (FINMA, AMLA, CDB) and onboarding / periodic review due diligence standards.
• Experience with remediation exercises, audits and preparing business responses.
• Ability to communicate with technical teams on tools and systems, and to make independent, defensible decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and French; German is an advantage.
