Robotics Engineer Intern - Autonomous Navigation

About the role
Join Flyability’s dynamic team in Lausanne to help advance the navigation capabilities of the Elios 3 autonomous drone platform. You will work on real‑world robotics challenges, bridging cutting‑edge research with practical deployment in complex indoor environments.
Key responsibilities
- Research, design, and implement algorithms that improve autonomous navigation and environmental understanding.
- Develop planning and decision‑making methods that balance reliability, efficiency, and mission requirements.
- Integrate new capabilities into the existing navigation and autonomy stack.
- Validate performance through simulation and real‑world flight experiments.
- Define evaluation criteria and assess system robustness, efficiency, and overall behavior.
Required profile
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related engineering field.
- Hands‑on experience with robotics algorithms on real systems, not only simulation.
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate research ideas into practical solutions.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
