Robotics Software Engineer Internship (Autonomy)

About the role

Gravis Robotics is seeking motivated interns to contribute to the development and deployment of autonomous construction robots. You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, applying AI‑based control, perception, and navigation techniques to heavy machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI‑driven control systems for heavy construction equipment.
• Implement environment perception and navigation planning modules.
• Design and test machine controller and behavior development software.
• Set up, integrate, and deploy code on autonomous robotic platforms.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Swiss university, preferably at master’s level in robotics, computer science, mechanical or electrical engineering, or design.
• Experience conducting research in an academic lab or through prior internships.
• Proven ability to install and run software on autonomous systems.
• Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously and in small teams.
