Scala Software Engineer

About the role

OneDoc, the leading healthcare platform in Switzerland, is looking for a Scala Software Engineer to work on backend features, fix bugs and improve existing services. The role suits someone who cares about well-designed, scalable backend systems and clean, maintainable code. It is a permanent, full-time position (100%) in Geneva or Lausanne, starting as soon as possible, with a hybrid model of at least 3 days on site.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services, focusing on performance, reliability and long-term maintainability.
• Write maintainable, well-structured code and take part in code reviews; help make and document technical decisions.
• Turn complex requirements into simple solutions by working with product managers, designers and management.
• Keep up with Scala and backend best practices and help introduce technologies that improve reliability, developer experience and productivity.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience with Scala, or a strong willingness to learn it quickly.
• Strong problem-solving skills, proactive attitude and commitment to clean code.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Working proficiency in English.
• Valid work permit, as the position is open only to applicants with one.
