Search Traffic Integrity Analyst

About the role

As a Traffic Integrity Analyst, you will protect Google Search by studying the evolving bot and scraper landscape, identifying new abuse and inorganic traffic patterns and measuring the effectiveness of protections. You will work with Software Engineers, Data Scientists and Site Reliability Engineers to develop, deploy and refine countermeasures, tracking threat actors and their impact on both scrapers and real users.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze patterns of abuse on Google Search and datasets to find trends, patterns and anomalies indicating abuse.
• Develop and track metrics to measure scraper impact and the effectiveness of anti-scraping defenses.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design, test and launch new anti-scraper rules, models and system enhancements.
• Investigate proof-of-concept attacks and research reports that reveal blind spots and guide engineering priorities.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of existing and proposed detection mechanisms and their impact on scrapers and real users.
• Contribute to machine learning signals and features for detecting abusive behavior.
• Maintain threat intelligence on scraper actors, motivations, tactics and the scraper ecosystem.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
• 7 years of experience managing projects and defining scope, goals and deliverables.
• Preferred: Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• Preferred: 10 years of experience in a data-related role such as threat intelligence, data science, trust and safety or fraud analysis.

Required skills

• Preferred: SQL, JavaScript, Python or C++.

What we offer

• Pay of $188,000 - $274,000 (USD) plus a 20% bonus target, equity and benefits.
