Senior Accountant (French/English/All)

About the role

Batgroup is seeking a Senior Accountant fluent in French and English to join its Finance team. The role involves managing day‑to‑day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the company’s growth across the full accounting cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate transaction entries.
• Process supplier invoices, employee expense reports, and customer billing, overseeing accounts payable and receivable.
• Perform regular bank, credit‑card and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Assist the Finance Manager with month‑end and year‑end close, including accruals, pre‑payments and journal entries.
• Prepare and file Swiss VAT returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations and Swiss accounting standards (Code des obligations).
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements, management reports and ad‑hoc analyses.
• Identify and implement improvements to automate and streamline accounting processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent Swiss qualifications such as Brevet Fédéral or CFC).
• 5–10 years of proven accounting experience in a fast‑paced corporate, startup or scale‑up environment.
• Fluency in French and English (written and spoken); German is a strong asset.
• High level of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of Swiss accounting principles (Swiss OR).
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
• Hands‑on experience with modern ERP systems or accounting software (BI a plus).
