Senior Accountant (French/English)

About the role

Batgroup is seeking a bilingual Senior Accountant to support its fast‑growing finance team. The role involves managing day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and contributing to the company’s expansion across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the general ledger, recording all financial transactions accurately.
• Process supplier invoices, employee expense reports, and customer billing, overseeing accounts payable and receivable.
• Perform regular bank, credit‑card and inter‑company reconciliations to guarantee data integrity.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing, including accruals, pre‑payments and journal entries.
• Prepare and file Swiss VAT returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations and Swiss accounting standards (Code des obligations).
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements, management reports and ad‑hoc analyses.
• Identify and implement improvements to automate and streamline accounting processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent Swiss qualification (Brevet Fédéral or CFC).
• 5‑10 years of accounting experience in a corporate, startup or scale‑up environment.
• Fluency in French and English (written and spoken); German is a strong asset.
• High level of accuracy, integrity and ability to work autonomously under strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of Swiss accounting principles (Swiss OR).
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and complex formulas.
• Hands‑on experience with modern ERP or accounting software (BI knowledge a plus).
