It is looking for a Senior Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design Specialist to lead the analog/mixed-signal area, starting 1 January 2027 or by mutual agreement.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and further develop the analog/mixed-signal area of the IC design infrastructure to support researchers and students.
  • Support design flows covering all aspects of IC design, with a strong focus on analog/mixed-signal flows, using tools from Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics and open-source tools.
  • Help students and researchers with IC design questions, chip finishing and submission of ICs to fabrication through MPW and foundry contacts.
  • Develop, adapt and maintain common building blocks for mixed-signal IC chips and larger mixed-signal ICs.
  • Take part in design reviews and deliver training modules and hands-on laboratory sessions.
  • Contribute to the group's outreach and visibility by supporting its web presence and preparing periodic activity reports.

Required profile

  • At least 5 years of IC design experience in industry or a qualified research institution, including hands-on tape-out procedures.
  • A track record of multiple successful analog/mixed-signal tape-outs across a range of technology nodes, including 22nm and FinFET, and experience leading chip tape-out projects.
  • PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.
  • Good written and spoken English; experience organizing technical training and undergraduate labs highly desirable.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with UNIX, scripting languages and IC design tools from major EDA vendors.
  • Analog/mixed-signal IC design expertise.

The workplace is mostly in the office, with some home-office hours per week possible. Applications must be submitted online through the ETH Zurich portal by 30 November 2026, with a letter of motivation, CV, diplomas and certificates of employment.
