Senior Associate / Manager - Data Management Specialist (Cloud, Data & AI)

About the role

PwC's Cloud, Data & AI team is looking for a Data Management Specialist (Senior Associate or Manager) in Zurich. You will lead initiatives that turn data into trusted, scalable assets for clients, driving data management, governance, platform and AI-readiness projects from strategy through execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead initiatives on data quality, ownership, metadata, lineage and lifecycle management so data is reliable and ready for analytics, automation and AI.
• Shape and improve enterprise data platforms, focusing on data observability, quality and AI readiness.
• Turn business requirements into data definitions, models, transformation logic, quality rules and outputs on modern cloud data platforms.
• Build governance processes, forums and decision mechanisms that foster adoption.
• Create client deliverables such as target operating models, data platform blueprints, governance playbooks, policies and roadmaps.
• Support business development: proposals, RfP responses, solution design, pricing and commercial discussions.
• Coach and develop team members and stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or a related field; advanced degrees or executive education are an advantage.
• Significant international, client-facing consulting experience, managing workstreams or projects in data, technology, analytics or digital transformation.
• Commercial mindset and proposal experience, including solution design, pricing and client relationship building.
• Experience leading workshops and engaging senior stakeholders across business and technology functions.
• Hands-on experience in data governance or management, data catalogues, metadata solutions, data migration or transformation in an international setting.
• Excellent written, spoken and visual communication in English and German; additional languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Core data management and governance concepts: data quality, metadata, master data, ownership.
• Practical experience with enterprise data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake or Databricks.
• Conceptual understanding of business process analytics, ideally with hands-on experience in tools such as Celonis or Signavio.
• Recognised technical certifications such as DAMA CDMP, Microsoft DP-900/AZ-900/AI-900, Snowflake SnowPro Core, or Databricks certifications are a plus.
