Senior Director, Head of Global Marketing, EPD

About the role

Abbott's Established Pharmaceuticals Division (EPD) is recruiting a Senior Director, Head of Global Marketing (m/f/d) based at EPD headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. As the most senior marketing leader in the organization, the role leads the global marketing vision, strategy and execution for a multi-billion-dollar, multi-therapeutic portfolio across 80+ markets, acting as a strategic partner to Executive Leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead the global marketing and commercial strategy across all therapeutic areas, and architect the global brand and portfolio strategy
• Integrate marketing with I&D, Business Development and Portfolio Expansion, and drive new growth opportunities such as in-licensing, partnerships and lifecycle innovation
• Drive global brand campaigns, brand positioning and architecture, and oversee global launch strategies
• Set regional and affiliate direction, performance targets and KPIs, and review affiliate commercial plans
• Transform marketing into a data-driven, digitally enabled function using analytics, AI and omnichannel engagement
• Own the global marketing investment strategy, lead the planning cycle and report performance to senior leadership
• Build and lead a global marketing organization, including multiple Global TA Directors, with strong succession planning

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Life Sciences and Marketing or a related field; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification strongly preferred
• Minimum 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with significant exposure to global marketing and commercial strategy
• Proven track record of leading large, multi-market portfolios and delivering above-market growth
• Experience managing budgets and P&L, and leading global teams in a matrix organization
• Fluency in English required; additional languages are an advantage
