Senior Director of Engineering

About the role

Reporting to the CTO, the Senior Director of Engineering leads the operational engine that turns technical vision into reality. Based in Zurich, you will oversee a global engineering organization delivering high‑performance, regulated financial software.

Key responsibilities

• Own and operate the engineering planning and delivery process, ensuring realistic, trackable plans across stakeholders.
• Drive hiring, career development, and culture to scale a world‑class, high‑accountability engineering team.
• Supervise engineering tools, infrastructure, cloud costs and security posture while managing the engineering budget.

Required profile

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in senior leadership (Director, VP, or CTO) managing global teams of 50+.
• Proven track record of professionalising engineering organizations and delivering complex, regulated, mission‑critical projects.
• Strong communication skills to convey delivery status and risks to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
