Senior Manager, Global Finance and Operations

About the role

The Senior Manager, Global Finance and Operations will oversee accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and compliance for CIVIC’s worldwide activities. This senior position partners with senior leadership, program directors and field teams to ensure financial integrity and support data‑driven decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full‑cycle monthly accounting, including general ledger, AP/AR and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts, monitor liquidity and ensure sufficient funds.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal policies and donor regulations across headquarters and field offices.
• Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and coordinate external audits, tax filings and international submissions.
• Consolidate global financial transactions and reporting, serving as primary contact for auditors, banks and vendors.
• Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Budgeting & Analysis to develop the organization‑wide annual budget and rolling forecasts.
• Monitor spending against budgets, identify variances and provide actionable insights to program and operations teams.
• Support the establishment of CIVIC’s new hub in Brussels, ensuring alignment with local and EU regulations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in global finance management, preferably within an international nonprofit or NGO.
• Proven ability to lead accounting operations, financial reporting and audit processes.
• Strong knowledge of donor regulations, grant compliance and international accounting standards.
• Demonstrated partnership with senior leadership and program teams to align financial planning with strategic goals.
• Experience supporting multi‑site operations and establishing new financial entities.
