Senior Manager Tax & Tax Governance

About the role

Clariant is seeking a results‑driven Senior Manager – National Tax & Tax Governance to lead its Swiss corporate income tax agenda and support global tax governance initiatives. Based in Pratteln, you will work closely with the Global Head of Tax and cross‑functional finance teams to ensure compliance, optimise tax positions and drive digital transformation across tax processes.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage Swiss corporate income tax compliance, filings, audits, rulings and negotiations with tax authorities.
• Serve as the primary contact for Swiss tax authorities and lead constructive engagements.
• Advise business units on complex domestic and international tax matters.
• Drive global tax process improvement, automation and digitalisation projects.
• Support strategic corporate initiatives, including M&A transactions, tax structuring and long‑term planning.
• Identify, analyse and mitigate global tax risks to ensure full jurisdictional compliance.
• Maintain and enhance Clariant’s Tax Control Framework and contribute to group‑wide tax strategy.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, Legal and external advisors to ensure consistent tax execution.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Tax Law or related field.
• Certified Swiss Tax Expert qualification (or in progress).
• 5+ years of experience in a Big 4 firm or in‑house tax department of a multinational.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss tax law, IFRS and Swiss GAAP.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• High level of integrity, analytical mindset and strong communication skills.
