Senior Non-Financial Risk Expert (Quality Assurance)

About the role

Julius Baer's Consolidated Supervision team, part of the Non-Financial Risk Control department in Zurich, oversees the implementation of the Global Minimum Standards and Global Minimum Controls in Switzerland and internationally. It manages the Group Policy Management Framework and the Group Internal Control Framework and supports international locations. This role leads the independent quality assurance of key controls for all non-financial risk types.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and operational effectiveness assessment of key controls for all non-financial risk types
• Identify internal control weaknesses and recommend process and control improvements
• Advise international locations on the Internal Control Framework and tools, including reporting of control results
• Develop and enhance the quality assurance framework in line with FINMA requirements
• Lead meetings with senior management and stakeholders across divisions and international locations

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent, preferably in economics, business administration or finance
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in private banking, preferably in audit, compliance, risk or control, or in a management consulting firm focused on financial and non-financial risk
• Strong management and leadership skills in private banking
• Ability to communicate easily with senior management and strong interpersonal skills
• Analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, with drive for results and ability to meet tight deadlines

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with JIRA
• Excellent English writing and communication; German, French or another language is an advantage
