Senior Patent Paralegal

About the role

Join Novartis as a Senior Patent Paralegal and become a trusted partner within the Intellectual Property team, managing complex global patent portfolios and supporting the translation of scientific discoveries into marketable innovations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex global patent portfolios and ensure timely execution of filing activities across Europe, the United States, PCT and other foreign jurisdictions.
• Prepare and coordinate patent application documentation, monitor dockets, deadlines and correspondence to safeguard IP rights.
• Collaborate with patent attorneys, inventors and international partners to advance innovation programs.
• Lead process‑improvement initiatives and mentor colleagues on patent prosecution and IP administration.

Required profile

• Paralegal or IP certification, or equivalent professional experience in patent administration.
• Extensive experience managing international patent prosecution in a law firm or corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of European, US, PCT and foreign filing practices.
• Excellent written and spoken English and a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.
