Senior Project Manager (80-100%) - Industrial Mechatronics

About the role

Belimo, a global market leader in field devices for the energy-efficient control of HVAC systems, is looking for a Senior Project Manager (80-100%) to lead complex, cross-functional development projects for industrial mechatronic products. The role covers planning to delivery, with structured execution, clear governance and robust risk management, and supports fact-based decisions for leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, steer and monitor complex or multi-workstream projects, covering scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks and deliverables.
• Coordinate cross-functional dependencies between Engineering, Production, Quality and other domains.
• Ensure adherence to governance, processes and methods, and coach project leads and team members.
• Maintain complete project data (planning, costs, resources) and report transparently on status, readiness, gaps and actions.
• Lead risk, issue and change management, including identification, assessment, mitigation, approvals and escalation.
• Prepare decision papers, scenarios and recommendations for leadership.
• Drive stakeholder communication, alignment and conflict resolution, and improve project methods and tools through lessons learned.

Required profile

• Technical degree (FH/ETH/University level) in a relevant field such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with broad knowledge of adjacent disciplines.
• Several years of experience leading interdisciplinary engineering projects.
• Strong methodological project management expertise; formal PM certification is a plus.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams with Development, Production, Quality and other business domains.
• Very good English; advanced German highly desirable.

Required skills

• Project management tools such as Jira, Sciforma and Planview, including planning, controlling and reporting.
• Understanding of business and economic correlations for trade-off and impact assessments.
• Communication, empathy, problem-solving and motivation as a project leader.
