Senior Python Developer with Flowable

About the role

DXC Luxoft is hiring a Senior Python & Flowable Engineer in Zurich to join a globally distributed team in the Wealth Management area of a leading global bank. The team works in the AI Factory stream, which turns AI use cases into production-grade solutions that automate and improve business processes. It combines workflow orchestration on the Flowable platform with Python-based AI and data services, in a highly regulated environment where reliability, auditability, security and compliance are key.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build process automation solutions combining Flowable workflows with Python-based AI and data services.
• Model processes, cases and decisions using BPMN 2.0, CMMN and DMN, including human-in-the-loop review steps.
• Develop Python services and APIs (e.g. FastAPI/Flask) that Flowable processes call, including integration with AI/ML and LLM services.
• Integrate workflows with internal and external systems through REST APIs and messaging.
• Turn business use cases into technical designs with business analysts, data scientists and stakeholders.
• Ensure AI-enabled processes are traceable, auditable and compliant with the bank's security and risk requirements.
• Write unit and integration tests, take part in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Support deployment and operation across DEV/UAT/PROD using CI/CD, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Act as a technical expert, guide less experienced engineers and contribute to solution architecture.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software development experience, with strong recent hands-on Python experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Flowable (or Activiti / Camunda).
• Proven experience designing REST APIs and service integrations (FastAPI, Flask or similar).
• Experience integrating AI/ML or LLM-based services into business applications.
• Track record of working in a globally distributed Agile team in a senior or lead capacity.
• Good spoken and written English.

Required skills

• BPMN 2.0, with practical experience of CMMN and DMN.
• SQL and relational databases.
• Git, CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar) and Docker.
• Working knowledge of Java / Spring Boot, enough to extend and integrate with Flowable.
• Nice to have: LLM frameworks (LangChain, RAG, prompt engineering), Flowable Work / Flowable Design, Kubernetes, Microsoft Azure (including Azure OpenAI), Kafka / JMS/MQ, and banking or wealth management experience.
