Senior Software Engineer, Gemini and Search

About the role

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on Gemini and Search initiatives. You will help build large‑scale backend systems that power AI‑driven user experiences across multiple surfaces, collaborating closely with frontend teams and other engineers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and enhance backend software solutions.
• Solve challenging quality and infrastructure problems.
• Work primarily with Python and C++, and occasionally Kotlin.
• Build end‑to‑end user experiences for AI Mode and the Gemini app, focusing on backend functionality.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of back‑end development experience in C++ and Python.
• Experience with machine learning and AI algorithms.
• Experience with quality analysis and evaluation is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones.
