Senior Software Engineer – Surgical Robotics

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a small multidisciplinary team developing a complete surgical robotic system. You will work in an agile environment, collaborating with engineers and clinicians to deliver high‑quality medical device software.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop front‑end and middle‑tier software components for medical devices using C++ and related frameworks.
• Manage work packages, ensuring compliance with version control, documentation standards, and quality systems.
• Lead software development activities and contribute to design verification and validation.
• Maintain Design History File documentation and support regulatory documentation preparation.
• Attend surgical procedures to understand clinical workflows and end‑user requirements.

Required profile

• Proactive, autonomous mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years or Master’s with 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a fast‑growing, international environment.
• Experience in the medical device or life‑sciences industry is a plus.
• Willingness to relocate to Lausanne and travel up to 5% of the time.

Required skills

• Object‑oriented development in C++ (C++17 or later).
• Experience with Rust (asset).
• Knowledge of Qt and QML frameworks or web application development.
• Test‑Driven Development (TDD) experience.
