Senior Tax Manager EUCAN

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead tax matters across a selection of European countries, with a focus on Eastern Europe, for a pharmaceutical client based in Glattpark (Opfikon), Switzerland. The role involves coordinating compliance, audits, and providing strategic tax advice to both global and local finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and advise on tax matters in multiple European jurisdictions, especially Eastern Europe.
• Lead corporate income tax compliance, audits and defence activities within the region.
• Collaborate with global and local finance teams to assess tax implications of transactions.
• Monitor legislative changes affecting taxation and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Oversee transfer pricing adjustments, documentation, and review contracts from a tax perspective.

Required profile

• University degree in accounting, finance, law or equivalent, preferably with a tax specialization.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry or a Big 4 firm.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws and fiscal frameworks in European countries, especially Eastern Europe.
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting for income taxes and tax compliance processes.
• Fluency in English and one Eastern European language.
• Valid Swiss work permit or EU citizenship.

Required skills

• CPA or equivalent professional tax certification.
• Tax specialist certification recognized in the region.
