Senior/Lead Security Engineer – Detection & Response

About the role

Fuse is seeking a Senior or Lead Security Engineer to design and operate next‑generation detection systems across its AWS, identity, endpoint, SaaS and data‑center environments. You will own end‑to‑end security monitoring, build detections, and lead incident response, acting like an SRE for security.

Key responsibilities

• Own security monitoring and detection across cloud, identity, endpoints, SaaS, networks and data‑center environments.
• Build and maintain telemetry and logging pipelines, continuously testing and improving detection coverage.
• Lead investigations and incident response from detection through containment, recovery and post‑mortem.
• Proactively hunt for threats, identify visibility gaps, and develop automation using AI and emerging tools.
• Collaborate with IT and Engineering to turn findings into preventative controls and better system design.
• Develop and test incident response playbooks and enhance internal AI agents and security bots.

Required profile

• Significant hands‑on experience in detection engineering, security engineering, incident response or threat hunting.
• Strong understanding of AWS security telemetry (CloudTrail, GuardDuty, VPC Flow Logs, IAM) and cloud monitoring.
• Deep networking knowledge and insight into attacker trade‑craft and lateral movement.
• Proven ability to investigate real security incidents end‑to‑end.
• Comfortable working autonomously and closely with cross‑functional teams.
• Curious about AI capabilities and proactive in experimenting with AI‑assisted security workflows.

Required skills

• Python scripting/programming.
• SIEM, EDR, SOAR tools (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Defender).
• Detection‑as‑code, Sigma, Git‑based detections, automated testing.
• Network security monitoring (PCAP, NetFlow/sFlow, firewall telemetry).
• Digital forensics, threat intelligence, purple‑teaming, security validation.
• Data‑centre security, OOB networks, BMC/IPMI.
