Site Reliability Engineer - eFX/Crypto

About the role

Swissquote, Switzerland's leading digital bank, is looking for a hands-on Site Reliability Engineer to help ensure the reliability, availability, scalability and performance of its production eFX/Crypto platforms. The role focuses on Kubernetes, production operations, automation, observability and infrastructure reliability, working closely with Infrastructure and Development engineers on on-premise and private cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor production systems, respond to incidents and ensure optimal uptime and performance.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications in production and on-premise infrastructure.
• Contribute to the design of scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions.
• Automate IT and operational processes, and implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Use Prometheus, Grafana and Elastic/Kibana to monitor and improve observability.
• Analyse faults, perform root-cause analysis and run stress, resilience, disaster recovery and BCP tests.
• Take part in the on-call rotation and continuously improve operational processes and reliability practices.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, Systems Engineering, Platform Engineering or a similar production engineering role.
• Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience in production environments, including services mesh (Istio), user management, health checks, networking and DNS, Linux administration, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines and observability tools.
• Experience with on-premise infrastructure and/or private cloud, Python and Shell scripting, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTPS, HTTP and load balancing, and SRE principles (SLIs, SLOs, SLAs).
• Good knowledge of Java web applications such as Spring Boot and Apache Tomcat.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, with willingness to learn French.
• Nice to have: CKA or CKAD certification, Helm, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions or Kubernetes operators, Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ, MT4/MT5, Windows Server 2016/2022, eFX/trading/cryptocurrency/banking experience, and high-availability or low-latency production systems experience.
