Site Reliability Engineer - eFX / Crypto

About the role

Swissquote, Switzerland's leading digital bank, is looking for a hands-on Site Reliability Engineer to help ensure the reliability, availability, scalability and performance of its production eFX and crypto platforms. The role focuses on Kubernetes, production operations, automation and observability, and works closely with Infrastructure and Development engineers on on-premise and private cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor production systems, respond to incidents and keep applications and infrastructure running optimally.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications in production and on-premise infrastructure.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, reliable infrastructure solutions.
• Automate IT and operational processes, and implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Use Prometheus, Grafana and Elastic/Kibana to monitor and improve observability.
• Analyse faults, run root-cause analysis and carry out stress, resilience, disaster recovery and BCP testing.
• Take part in the on-call rotation and support production systems.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, Systems Engineering, Platform Engineering or a similar production engineering role.
• Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience in production environments, including services mesh (Istio), user management, health checks, networking and DNS, Linux administration, Docker, IaC (Terraform, Ansible), CI/CD pipelines and observability tools.
• Good programming and scripting in Python and Shell; strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTPS, HTTP, load balancing).
• Understanding of SRE principles (SLIs, SLOs, SLAs) and of Java web applications (Spring Boot, Apache Tomcat).
• Fluent English, willingness to learn French.
• Nice to have: CKA/CKAD, Helm, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Kafka/RabbitMQ, MT4/MT5, Windows Server, and experience in eFX, trading, crypto or banking.
