Social Media & Media Intern – Communications & Events

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) seeks a motivated intern to support its Communications and Events team. Working from the Geneva headquarters, you will help amplify ITC’s work on sustainable trade, SME development and gender equality across its social media channels.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, creating and publishing daily content (text, illustration, photo and video) for ITC’s social media platforms.
• Compile, analyse and report social media metrics to inform research and strategy.
• Collaborate with technical colleagues to generate ideas for engaging multimedia content.
• Support the design and rollout of visibility and advocacy campaigns on social media.
• Conduct research on trade bloggers, influencers and journalists ahead of the Global SME Ministerial Meeting 2027.
• Provide assistance to the media team for daily briefings and other media‑related tasks.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor programme, a graduate programme, or a recent graduate (within one year of graduation).
• Strong journalistic writing and editing abilities, adaptable to different tones and formats.
• Basic knowledge of camera operation for photography and videography, including experience with mirrorless cameras or mobile‑journalism equipment.
